Executive Order GA-48

Governor Abbot issued Executive Order GA-48 on November 19, 2024.

This order creates additional requirements for Texas public education institutions and other state agencies regarding activities involving: China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia or Venezuela

Pursuant to Executive Order GA-48, all 草莓传媒官网下载 personnel:

- are prohibited from entering into a contract or PO with a country named above
- are prohibited from accepting any gifts, regardless of value, from an entity associated with the countries listed above;
- are prohibited from traveling on behalf of 草莓传媒官网下载 to the countries listed above; and
- must notify 草莓传媒官网下载 of any personal travel to the countries listed above prior to that travel and submit a post travel brief outlining the details of the trip, including the dates and purpose of the travel.

Tx-Ramp

Beginning January 1, 2022, mandates that state agencies and Institutions of Higher Education must only enter or renew contracts to receive cloud computing services that comply with TX-RAMP requirements.

In the 87th Legislative Session, the Texas Legislature passed , requiring the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) to establish a state risk and authorization management program that provides “a standardized approach for security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring of cloud computing services that process the data of a state agency.”

To comply, DIR established a framework for collecting information about cloud services security and assessing compliance with required controls and documentation.

This may initially lead to a delay in the risk assessment process for cloud services while 草莓传媒官网下载 works to get required certifications established.
