Constitution Day

Each year, ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ celebrates , which commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.

Abigail Adams re-enactor

In September ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ holds events for students, faculty, staff and the Denton community.

The events include: voter registration tables, giveaways, displays in the Blagg-Huey Library, and panel discussions.

Examples of past discussion panels are: “What Do Political Parties Do (and How Can I Help?)”, “Your Life After the 2021 Supreme Court Term”, and “The Constitution Behind Closed Doors and Your Right to Privacy”.

The events are hosted by ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ Libraries, the Center for Women in Government and the History & Political Science Department. ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ’s theme for Constitution Day 2024 is “Gerrymandering and How Your Vote Counts”.
