PhD candidate’s fellowship is creating path to help others

Thuy-Tien Ho, a PhD candidate in the School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology, was chosen as a 2023-24 Dallas-Fort Worth Albert Schweitzer Fellow, which prepares the next generation of professionals who will serve and empower vulnerable people to live healthier lives and create healthier communities. She  is developing and implementing a mindfulness health promotion and chronic disease prevention program tailored to the needs of women living in West Dallas.

Partnership adds life skills class for students on autism spectrum

A partnership between ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ and the has led to a life skills class at ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ for students on the autism spectrum. This fall there are 24 academy students on the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ campus as non-degree seeking students. 

Space Design team wins NASA-sponsored challenge for fourth time

Texas Woman’s University undergraduate kinesiology students focused on what they knew best — the scientific study of human body movement — and took the top overall prize at a NASA-sponsored design competition, marking the fourth time a ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ team won first-place honors in the statewide challenge.

Faculty member’s student experience is inspiration for Japan study abroad program

Aya Yoshikawa, an assistant professor in the School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology, was one of nine recipients to receive a two-year Texas International Education Fund (TIEF) study abroad development grant from the The Texas International Education Consortium (TIEC).

Service has familiar theme to student’s spring break experience

Texas Woman’s junior Maya Landgrebe didn’t have to leave Denton to have the perfect spring break. As site leader for the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ Local Alternative Spring Break, Landgrebe planned volunteer excursions for university students who stayed on campus or in the Denton area this past spring break.
