Trip Highlights: 2018

The Netherlands – April 4-14, 2018 – 11 graduate students; 2 faculty

Two faculty of the College of Nursing (Dr. Anne Koci and Dr. Diane Montgomery) and 11 Advanced Practice Nursing (APRN) students (10 Masters Nurse Practitioners and one Doctorate of Nursing Practice) explored the APRN role and educational preparation within the Dutch health care system as part of the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ/Rotterdam Collaborative. Students were immersed in the Dutch health system which included the Groene Hart Hospital in Gouda, the Renier de Graaf Hospital in Delft, and the Antonius Binnenweg Nursing Home in Rotterdam. ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ students also had two meetings with the Rotterdam APRN students where ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ students presented their most unusual case studies. The last day in The Netherlands included a tour of The Hague and a Celebration/Farewell Dinner at The Grand-Café Binnen seaside village pier of Scheveningen. Course participants gained a greater appreciation of our global society while developing larger appreciation and understanding of diverse populations and health care delivery systems.
