Graduating senior and Terry Scholar was one of 32 women from 20 universities who participated in the recent nationally recorded NFL Women鈥檚 Empowerment Draft of amazing women in history. Olivia and her counterparts wore a portrait of iconic women leaders on an NFL-style jersey, and each described the life and contributions of the woman featured on her jersey. Olivia paid tribute to Houston-born Selena, the 鈥淨ueen of Tejano music.鈥
鈥淚t was a powerful experience,鈥 said Olivia. 鈥淚 hope this inspires women of all ages to achieve their dreams and fight for what is right. And what better school to represent (in this national project) than Texas Woman鈥檚 University.鈥

The Texas Woman鈥檚 University Department of Biology is supporting local COVID-19 testing by supplying Denton County Public Health with tubes of virus transport media (VTM) and nasal swabs for specimen collection.
