Core Assessment

Welcome to Core Assessment! Our office oversees assessment of the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ Core Curriculum, assists in the facilitation of periodic program review, and manages communications with our institutional accreditor, SACSCOC. We also support student learning by facilitating faculty workshops focused on inclusive, equitable assessment practices.

Core Assessment 101

  • Who is included in the Core Assessment? As a condition for belonging to the core curriculum, all are required to participate in core assessment.
  • When are the courses assessed? Faculty interested in seeing whether a class they are teaching is being assessed and which objectives are being used, .
  • What is included in the Core Assessment? Core Assessment consists of the following six learning objectives, which are mandated by the state of Texas.
