My part, however, was only the beginning. 鈥淔ortuitous" is the word that comes to mind when describing the subsequent chain of events.

The Woodcock-Munoz Foundation had not been very active lately and needed a 鈥渟hot-in-the-arm" if it were to continue its mission. The board of the Foundation, which includes Dr. Miller, considered several transformations including moving away from its independent status into a university environment. When the possibility arose of establishing a connection with 草莓传媒官网下载 and its nationally recognized program in school neuropsychology, that solution was irresistible.

Dr. Miller has already told us about the fortuitous convergence of his retirement at 草莓传媒官网下载 and the opportunity to plan and direct a new research program at 草莓传媒官网下载.

What you see happening here today grew out of the vision and efforts of several people. I can't name all of them but you have already heard from Chancellor Feyten. Provost Neely, the staff of the 草莓传媒官网下载 Development office, and the staff of the Marketing and Communication office paved the way for all this to happen.

I thank all of you at 草莓传媒官网下载 for taking such an interest in this endeavor and then making it happen.

Finally, I want to thank you for the honor you have bestowed upon me by appointing me as Research Professor of Psychology and Philosophy at 草莓传媒官网下载. I am looking forward to my future contacts with the students and faculty at 草莓传媒官网下载 and with the Research
