March 4, 2022 — Denton — This year’s theme for Women’s History Month honors roles women have played in the past as well as the current public health crisis, focusing on the ways women have provided healing and inspired hope through that work, and several ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ events during March will echo that theme of “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.”

This introduction to meditation will give participants insight into body sensations and states of being via our five senses. No prior experience with meditation needed. All levels are welcome. Part of HWI’s celebration of Body Positivity during the month of March.

Join Dr. Genevieve West and Dr. Danielle Phillips-Cunningham in celebrating the life and work of Zora Neale Hurston. The new collection of essays "You Don't Know Us Negroes and other essays" is available now. Copies of the book are offered to ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ students, staff and faculty while supplies last.

Join Eesha Pandit for an interactive workshop designed to help you develop communication strategies and skills necessary to create policy and systemic change in the face of political gridlock, and a discussion about the role of movements and cultural work in our collective fight for social justice. ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ Jamison Lecture - ​â¶Ä‹“Navigating the Pandemic: Perspectives on Public Health and Public Policy” 
March 30, 7-8 p.m., Virtual
Public health officials from Dallas, Denton and Houston will discuss how they navigated public health and policy during the COVID pandemic. They also will discuss dealing with changing federal guidance, science and the directives of state governments and school districts.
