Best Ways to Honor Black History Month

February 3, 2023 — Denton — February marks the start of Black History Month. The observation, conceived of by Carter G. Woodson, a Black historian and journalist, began in 1926 as Black History Week. This year’s theme, as defined by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the organization that Woodson founded, is “Black Resistance,” and is intended to highlight how Black Americans have fought against racial inequality. 

While there are many opportunities and ways to honor Black History Month, we have compiled our list of favorites in this week’s edition of “best of.”
