Financial Conflict of Interest Policy

2/11/2026: Due to increased compliance regulations, we are requesting SFI forms for any and all applications for the linked funding agency list

requires that investigators responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research on proposed, awarded, or ongoing ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ research projects or educational activities disclose all significant financial interests (SFIs) that may be related to the investigator’s institutional responsibilities. The policy applies to proposals and sponsored projects supported by the Public Health Service of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (PHS) including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), other Federal agencies as necessary to comply with regulations, or other funding entities as necessary to maintain objectivity in research.

Investigators on applicable projects must disclose SFIs, including those of a spouse or dependent children, when the interest reasonably appears to be related to the investigator’s institutional responsibilities. Disclosure requirements also apply to investigators on PHS funded projects whose travel related to institutional responsibilities was either sponsored by or reimbursed by an external entity. See ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ's FCOI Procedures for definitions and exceptions.

A current FCOI Significant Financial Interest Disclosure Form must be kept on file with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs for investigators submitting research proposals or serving as key personnel on active research grants.
