Scheller teams with RISHI for Power of Nursing
April 5, 2022 鈥 DENTON 鈥 Associate Clinical Professor Suzanne Scheller, MS, RN, CNE, in the College of Nursing at Texas Woman鈥檚 University is teaming with the . She will be director of the institute鈥檚 unique .
鈥淚 recognize the tremendous potential of the Power of Nursing program to address issues for students and practicing nurses alike,鈥 Scheller said.
The Power of Nursing is one of a number of innovative educational programs offered by RISHI, which offers tools, practices and resources to help health professionals avoid burnout and find purpose in their work.
As director, Scheller will add clinical and academic expertise paired with her understanding of challenges facing nursing schools across the nation. The Power of Nursing is a five-session course built on the discovery model in which students and course directors share their own insights and perspectives on topics, learning from each other.
鈥淭he nursing profession needs self-care tools that the RISHI PON program and curriculum offers to nurture resiliency and community,鈥 Scheller said.
Preliminary research by Scheller suggests that undergraduate nursing students experience meaningful outcomes from participating in a PON program.
