Affinity Group

What are Affinity Groups?

Affinity Groups are a collection of faculty and staff who actively engage in communication and/or gather around a centrally unifying purpose, mission, background or activity.

Start a New Affinity Group

²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ faculty and staff can establish and charter a new affinity group by following these steps:

  1. Appoint and document the selection of officers
  2. Adopt bylaws
  3. Submit application form, documentation of officers and the adoption of bylaws to the University’s Affinity Group Liaison (Tony Yardley, ) in the Office of Human Resources for approval.

Wellness Works

To foster positive behavioral change through wellness education, mentoring the development of healthier environments, peer support, and offering employees support through existing ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ wellness resources and additional programmatic efforts.

Maintaining Motherhood in Academia (MMA)

TWQ: LGBTQ+ Faculty Staff Affinity Group

²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ's black faculty and staff affinity group members in the Denton campus library.

To create a community of support that fosters professional growth, success, and camaraderie among Black faculty and staff at ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ. While fostering community within the employee group, we also hope to create and advocate for resources for Black students at the university.

Unidxs - Latinx Faculty & Staff Affinity Group works to create a community for growth and professional development, success sharing, networking and mentorship within the Latinx community of professionals at Texas Woman’s University. We aim to dismantle negative misconceptions of the Latinx community and develop positive perceptions that empower the ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ Latinx population.

Young Professionals in Higher Education (YPiHE) is an employee affinity group at ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ that is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and professional growth among faculty and staff members who identify as "Gen Z," "Millennial," or "young at heart." Our mission is to provide networking opportunities, social events, and professional development resources across the Denton, Dallas, and Houston campuses.
