Center for First-Generation Students

What does it mean to be a First-Generation? First-Generation (or first-gen) college students are students whose parents or guardians have not completed a bachelor’s degree. Over 50% of ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ students are first-generation college students. 

The Center for First-Generation Students is dedicated to helping First-Gen Pioneers navigate the higher education system. It is our goal is to foster a sense of community for all students. We provide a wide range of activities and events that promote community building and offer various services and programs. Our aim is to build collaborative relationships that enhance students' learning and engagement opportunities and enrich their co-curricular experiences to promote student success.

Mission Statement

The Center for First-Generation Students at ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¹ÙÍøÏÂÔØ provides resources tailored to the needs of first-generation students, empowering them to navigate their academic journey confidently and achieve their educational goals. Our primary focus is to create a supportive community that enhances retention rates and successful degree completion.
