Biography

Lou Ann Hintz, PhD, OTR, is an assistant professor in the School of Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman鈥檚 University. Her educational background is focused on occupational therapy, with undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees centered on the profession of occupational therapy. She strongly believes that meaningful occupational pursuits can influence the health and well-being of all humans and wishes to influence the next generation of occupational therapists through teaching. Her professional experience is concentrated in school-based practice, with some experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation, including in-patient and home health settings. She has presented numerous workshops and presentations on school-based practice, focusing on multi-tiered support systems. Her 15+ years of experience as a school-based occupational therapist have instilled a passion within her to support therapists and teachers with the most effective and efficient solutions to build skills in all students. Current pursuits include teaching research to entry-level occupational therapy doctoral students and conducting research to build the knowledge base in the field of school-based occupational therapy.
