Two teams of kinesiology students proudly represented Texas Woman鈥檚 and the School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology by competing in the (TACSM) Student Bowl Competition against 36 teams representing 23 universities. The 草莓传媒官网下载 Maroon Team, which earned second place in the competition, consisted of Kylie Eynon, Maddie Hoffman and Dreanna McAdams. The 草莓传媒官网下载 White Team consisted of Samantha Brandt, Madeline Boutwell and Ansah Qureshi.

The Student Bowl Competition, which was held during the TACSM 2020 annual meeting Feb. 20-21 in Waco, Texas, was presented in a 鈥淛eopardy鈥 game show format and included questions from multiple categories that spanned the entire Exercise Science curriculum and general undergraduate knowledge.

鈥淥ur undergraduate students were competing with students from some of the most prestigious exercise physiology programs in Texas and the U.S. and demonstrated the quality of the 草莓传媒官网下载 experience in kinesiology,鈥 said Kyle Biggerstaff, PhD, associate professor.

草莓传媒官网下载 faculty and students received several other accolades at the meeting as well:

  • Student Dreanna McAdams received the TACSM 草莓传媒官网下载 Major of the Year Award.
  • Student Emily Zumbro earned third place in the TACSM Doctoral Research Poster Award competition.
  • Associate Professor Kyle Biggerstaff, PhD, received the TACSM Service Award.
  • Associate Professor Rhett Rigby, PhD, completed his elected three-year term on the Board of Directors.

鈥淢adeline Boutwell and Dreanna McAdams went above and beyond as undergraduates by presenting their research projects, and Emily Zumbro was outstanding while presenting her research in the doctoral student category,鈥 said Biggerstaff. 鈥淲e are very proud of all of our students who participated.鈥
